Our Story
All for the love of a horse.
Teddy Spaghetti, Kat’s personal horse, had an accident that caused him to be lame and unsound for several years. Having explored several avenues of treatments along with Teddy having significant time off, Kat discovered that Teddy was much more comfortable with routine bodywork in conjunction with certain exercises. Being a Massage Therapist, having graduated from The Southeastern Institute of Neuromuscular Massage, she went down the path of equine bodywork through the Masterson Method program.
Cadence of the Carolinas was founded in 2020 in Western North Carolina as an equine bodywork service. COTC has since grown by adding a training program centered around proper biomechanics of the horse, incorporating Kat’s passion for dressage, bodywork, and rehabilitation into one. This year COTC has expanded even further by adding Pulse PEMF therapy to its list of services.
“Teddy Spaghetti has been the ultimate teacher in my life. I truly would not be the person I am today if he had not come into my world.”
— Kat Markham, Founder
